A fresh set of allied health professionals from Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) deserves hailing as 233 graduates successfully pass the state exam in August, thus minting them as newly licensed medical technologists. 

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on 17 August 2023 that the national total of 3,982 passers out of 5,401 takers in the August 2023 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination, resulted in a national passing rate of 73.75 percent.

Yet again demonstrating the caliber of OLFU Valenzuela’s College of Medical Laboratory Science is its impressive passing rate of 94.25 percent, earning OLFU Valenzuela the Top 4 rank among the best performing schools; outperforming 142 academic institutions across the country in the said national exam.

Aside from OLFU Valenzuela, the Quezon City and Antipolo campuses also logged impressive passing rates of 83.67 percent and 75 percent, respectively – feats ahead of the 73.75 percent national passing rate.

Overall, OLFU garnered a combined passing rate of 77.93 percent – another testimony of the consistently high-flying outcome of this program offering of the institution.

The aforementioned accomplishments of these campuses are even more notable with the outstanding passing rates of first-time takers from OLFU Valenzuela at 98.72 percent, OLFU Quezon City at 90.63 percent, and OLFU Antipolo at 88.89 percent.

The overall national passing rate for first-time takers of the same state assessment accounts for only 81.93 percent.

On a Facebook post on Thursday evening, the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health (PASMETH) now led by Dr. Jose Jurel Nuevo, Dean of the College of Medical Laboratory Science of OLFU, extends its congratulations to the successful takers who will eventually become vital contributors to the medical science field.

“Congratulations to the August 2023 MT Licensure Examination passers! Our felicitations as well to our member schools cited as top-performing!” it said.

The Board of Medical Technology led by Chairwoman Marilyn Cabal-Barza was the chief facilitator of the said state exam. The online registration for the release of their Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration is scheduled on October 2 to 6, October 9 to 13, and October 16, 2023.
