Overview

The College of Education commits itself to producing high performing teachers who can educate across different learning areas while simultaneously taking student and community welfare into account. It delivers more than adequate field study and practice teaching experiences for its students to become content experts. And by exposing students to the classroom setting, the programs help students develop and learn diverse teaching strategies.

With a state-of-the-art Education Technology Laboratory, students are empowered to add value to teaching and learning experiences with the use of various technology-based media. The laboratory also serves as an avenue to conduct demonstration teaching in a school classroom set-up. It enhances the instructional design process— introducing new technologies appropriate to the evolving needs of the students while serving as a repository of instructional materials prepared by the students.

The College of Education takes active part in the outreach activities of the University through its Literacy Program. Students are tapped to teach basic reading and writing, as well as Peer Tutoring.

Today, students of the College of Education reap the full benefits from OLFU’s world-class learning platforms and resources which are paired with state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories—all delivered by a competent teaching faculty through a masterful mix of learning modalities: online, distance or, when health conditions permit, face-to-face learning.

It is also noteworthy that OLFU is one among a few select schools to be granted the Certificate of Authority by the CHEd, allowing it to conduct limited face-to-face classes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic;  a testament to the University’s established and effective community safety protocols.
