Being in the forefront of educational reforms and flexible learning options, OLFU is one of a few select schools to be granted the Certificate of Authority by the Commission of Higher Education (CHEd), allowing it to conduct limited face-to-face classes in the midst of the COVID-10 pandemic; a testament to the university’s established and effective community safety protocols.

The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy program is designed to prepare graduates with critical and analytical thinking abilities as well as a greater understanding of pulmonary care.

Students will get an intensive foundation through a comprehensive curriculum that will enable them to examine, evaluate, treat, care for, and educate patients with cardiopulmonary and respiratory diseases.

The practice includes:

  • Administration of drugs by inhalation
  • Mechanical ventilator calibration, hooking, and management
  • Maintenance of airways
  • Assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Performing diagnostic procedures
  • Function test and blood gas extraction and analysis
