Bachelor of Science in International Tourism Management
Overview
CHIM is recognized as a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (COE) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) because of its exceptional performance in Hospitality and Tourism Education. The College continues to rise through international and national certifications, awards in skills competition, top-notch practicum programs, and internship opportunities here and abroad.
On top of the Philippine diploma, the program of study also allows successful graduates to achieve mutually recognized qualifications and certificates in the United States of America and Australia.
Today, students of CHIM reap the full benefits from OLFU’s world-class learning platforms and resources which are paired with state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories—all delivered by a competent teaching faculty through a masterful mix of learning modalities: online, distance or, when health conditions permit, face-to-face learning.
It is also noteworthy that OLFU is one among a few select schools to be granted the Certificate of Authority by the CHEd, allowing it to conduct limited face-to-face classes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic; a testament to the University’s established and effective community safety protocols.
Furthermore, two of the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management’s (CHIM) programs, namely the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management and the Bachelor of Science in International Tourism Management, are now accredited by the globally-renowned Institute of Hospitality effective from July 2019 to July 2024.
The Institute of Hospitality is an international “professional body for managers and aspiring managers working and studying in the hospitality, leisure, and tourism industry”. They aim to “promote professionalism through lifelong learning” by supporting each member of the industry—professional practitioners, educational institutions, and students.
Meeting the quality standards set by the organization as a provider of hospitality and tourism education, OLFU CHIM is the first and only Philippine-based university to receive this accreditation from the said institute.
