Tasked to promote the brand of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) to local school partners, prospective students, and fellow Fatimanians, the Valenzuela Campus’ University Student Representatives Team (USRT) participated in a series of learning sessions to enhance their members’ prowess in marketing and promotion.

As constituents of the umbrella student organization administered by the University Admissions Office, the Student Representatives gained valuable insights from two workshops on effectively engaging with their target audiences while embodying the Fatima brand. The ultimate goal is to prepare the USRT members for actual fieldwork as they come along on school visits, career fairs and such.

The first workshop entitled “ENABLE: A Public Speaking and Personality Development Workshop” hosted at the St. Benedict Hall on 31 August 2018, was geared to equip and enhance the skills, potentials, and character of USRT members; thereby aiding them in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities as Ambassadors of the University.

The speaker for its Public Speaking segment was theatre and media practitioner Angela Mhae R. Herrera; while the Personality Development segment was led by Lorraine R. Parangue, a Registered Guidance Counselor and an expert in handling Personality Development Workshops for different universities in Metro Manila.

As part of the continuous development plan for the USRT, a second workshop, themed “It’s More Fun in OLFU: A Tour Guiding Services Workshop”, was rolled-out on 4 September 2018 at the Padre Pio Building. Facilitated by Certified Tourism Professionals and OLFU College of Hospitality and Institutional Management faculty members Shyne C. Monte and Arjay A. Punongbayan, the program sought to establish the basic concept and principles of Tour Guiding especially in the campus set-up. Such is meant to prepare the student representatives for future Open House events and Campus Visitations.

Enriched with fresh new learnings from both trainings, the Valenzuela USRT members were able to create their own spiels on different destinations and places.

Also, with the recognition of the USRT as an Interest-Based Organization of OLFU, its adviser John Paolo Enguero, a Public Relations Assistant, and the new set of officers were duly formalized during the Induction of Officers for Student Organizations held last 7 September 2018 at the AMS Auditorium.

The new student leaders of the USRT Valezuela Campus  are as follows:

  • Minister/ President: Jayphee R. Malasaga, 2nd Year Marketing Management;
