Last November 2020, the Criminal Justice Students Society (CJSS) of the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) Quezon City Campus initiated “Project: CJSS AHON,” a donation drive for the victims of Typhoon Ulysses in Barangay Silangan, Quezon City where families of two Criminology students were also residing.
Spearheaded by the President of the CJSS, Ma. Daphne M. Alaba, the project moved to raise funds for relief goods.
Faculty members and students of the College of Criminal Justice, along with their peers, generously contributed to Project: CJSS AHON, which generated enough money to produce 50 relief packs. Each contained personal hygiene products, laundry detergent, rice, canned goods, noodles, and bottled water.
On 21 November 2020, the relief packs were distributed to the beneficiaries in Barangay Silangan by CJSS officers and other volunteer Criminology students. They were, namely: Daphne Alaba, Angel May Caisip, Leiviel Flynn Ringor, Prince Mark Cano, Camille Acquiatan, Joel Camacho, Jay De Leon, Joseph Cubay, John Louise Galvero and May Ann Cantillo. All performed this noble undertaking with their own volition despite some difficulties and risks due to the present pandemic situation.
The CJSS is a college-based student organization of the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ). It is under the advisership of Rey Mar Villanueva and under the supervision of Dr. Cecille Mae Canilon, program head of CCJ Quezon City campus.
