The Graduate School of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) is elated to unveil its new curricula for an initial array of master’s degree programs. By virtue of the reformulated curricula, these programs may now be completed in one academic year or three semesters, perfectly in line with stipulations of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 15, series of 2019.
Among the programs that are now open for enrollees and shall implement the new curricula this Academic Year 2023-2024 are Master of Arts in Teaching majors in Biology, Chemistry, English, Filipino, Math, Social Studies; Master in Business Administration; Master of Science in Hospitality Management; Master of Science in Travel Management; Master in Hospital Administration; and Master in Public Health.
All the aforementioned masteral degrees fall under non-thesis or professional tracks “with the primary purpose of applying knowledge in professional practice.”
The professional master’s degree program requires students of at least thirty (30) units of coursework exploring comprehensive studies in professional or vocational fields wherein at least three (3) units of which cover the capstone course or the practice-based project, on top of an assessment examination they need to pass to officially culminate the program.
According to CHED, these dramatic changes in curricula have been pushed to answer the ever-demanding academic landscape by enhancing competencies among students. In this manner, learners are equipped to meet the standards structured by globalization, regional integration, internationalization of higher education, among others.
Succinctly put, OLFU continues to refashion its academic brand especially in its pedagogical delivery recommended by experts – a holistic execution of the institution’s strong foundation in the industry to this day.
