OLFU Holds First Safety Orientation For 2015

The Our Lady of Fatima University through the collaborative efforts of the Social Orientation and Community Involvement (SOCI) Department and the College of Criminal Justice facilitated the conduct of a Safety and Health Orientation for middle-level managers and faculty members last June 11, 2015 at the Multi-purpose Hall, San Lorenzo building, Valenzuela City. The activity was attended by the campus administrators, college deans, department heads of both OLFU and FUMC, program heads, faculty membersand security officers with a total of two hundredeight (208)participants coming from the four (4) campuses of the university.

The National President and Chairperson of the Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI), Mr. Eros G. Zuniga who was introduced by Dr. Zorobabel S. Laureles, delivered a lecture on occupational and school safety. He emphasized the paramount importance of protecting the  workers against occupational risks, hazards, injuries and deaths through safe and healthful working conditions and environment.A lively open forum ensued after the lecture.

The University President, Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez who graced the occasion, personally presented to Mr. Zuniga a Certificate of Appreciation for his generosity of sharing to the participants his time and expertise, then made her closing remarksencouraging the participants to observe safety in the workplace for the benefits of both the employees and stakeholders. She also expressed her gratitude to the College of Crimininal Justice particularly to Dean Laureles for the conduct of the safety orientation as well as initiating the university’s membership to the SOPI.

OLFU became  an institutional member of the Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI) last March 31, 2015.
