The Our Lady of Fatima University, College of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Civic Action Group hosted the 3rd General Assembly of Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students (APPTS) at Saint Benedict Hall, Our Lady of Fatima University last March 17, 2013.
The said event was attended by 50 student leaders from 11 physical therapy schools across the region namely, Arellano University, Angeles University Foundation, Emilio Aguinaldo College, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, University of Batangas, Far Eastern University, St. Anne College of Lucena, Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila, Our Lady of Fatima University – Valenzuela Campus and Our Lady of Fatima University – Quezon City Campus.
Officers of the Philippine Physical Therapy Association, the official professional organization of Physical Therapists in the country, also attended the general assembly namely Mr. Royson Mercado, PPTA President, Mr. Baldhomero Ranjo II, PPTA External Vice President and Ms. Gayline Manalang Jr., PPTA Director.
Association’s achievements and projects were presented during the event. Student leaders from different schools also discussed the new strategies to bring the national association to a new level.
The election for the new set of officers for AY 2013-2014 was also conducted in this event. Jonathan Mari Flores, a 2nd Year student from Our Lady of Fatima Valenzuela was elected as the new Vice-President for Finance. This marks the 3rd consecutive year that a student from of OLFU-Valenzuela was elected as part of the Executive Committee of APPTS.
The Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students is the official national student organization of Physical Therapy students and the special project arm of the Philippine Physical Therapy Association. The organization aims to unite all the Physical Therapy students in the Philippines and bring worthwhile projects and events to its members.
