The globally-renowned Institute of Hospitality recently accredited the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management and the Bachelor of Science in International Tourism Management— two programs ran by the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management (CHIM) of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU). Said distinction attests to the global quality standards practiced by the institution in providing world-class hospitality and tourism education.
OLFU CHIM is the first and only Philippine-based educational institution to receive an accreditation from the Institute of Hospitality. It will be effective for five years from July 2019 to July 2024.
As quoted by the Institute in its online list of Accredited Programs and Providers, CHIM Dean, Dr. Ignacio Cordova said, “This is another milestone in our college’s vision of becoming a Preferred Resource Hub for our industry partners by providing excellent leadership, competencies and knowledge in the fields of tourism and hospitality through quality assurance and continuous improvement,” expressing pride and delight in achieving such feat.
With members in over 100 countries, the Institute of Hospitality, according to its official website, is an international “professional body for managers and aspiring managers working and studying in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry”. It aims to “promote professionalism through lifelong learning” by supporting practitioners, educational institutions, and students.
