Bringing honor to Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), three alumni from the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program were named as topnotchers in the October 2019 Psychometrician Licensure Exam.
Valenzuela Campus’ achiever Abigael Pedellume took the Top 6 spot with a rating of 85.40%, while Maria Franchesca Ochoco of the Antipolo Campus landed Top 8 with a rating of 85.00%. The Quezon City Campus also soared high with Ma. Angelica Manalili placing Top 9 with a rating of 84.80%.
For Pedellume, knowledge is a “powerful tool”. As an academic scholar, the Latin Honor awardee-turned-topnotcher had her own share of difficulties and challenges in her student life, such as maintaining exemplary grades and meeting high expectations. Yet, her desire to make an impact through her future career became her driving force. “I believe that a single seed of learning, watered with love and support, would sprout into a better future,” she shared.
On the other hand, Ochoco saw the value of being able to impart knowledge to others. “I found that sharing what I have learned, be it psychology-related or as simple as tips on how to be as calm as possible during stressful times, was the best and most important thing that I could ever have done because others were able to reciprocate,” she said. “Through this collaboration, I was able to learn a lot more.
Manalili meanwhile mused about her realization that life is a journey that offers many ways and possibilities. “Our lives are made of stairs, of forking roads, and of winding forests. Sometimes we get lost, other times we must choose, and most often we have to decide whether to take the next step. No matter the obstacle, even if an enormous tree had fallen and blocked your way, always choose to take the next step,” she encouraged.
For this edition of the boards, 221 passers are Fatima’s very own.
Congratulations to the newly licensed Psychometricians!
