The College of Medicine is jubilant as it celebrates the achievement of 344 newly licensed physicians who successfully conquered the April 2024 Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE).
The rigorous examination, spanning four days from April 7-8 to April 14–15, 2024, tested the mettle of aspiring doctors. Three days after the last examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially released the results on 18 April 2024, producing a total of 1,906 new physicians.
Out of 56 Philippine medical schools, OLFU’s 344 fresh passers contribute to an impressive 18 percent of the total national passers for the said state exam.
The esteemed members of the Board of Medicine presided over the licensure examination. Led by Dr. Zenaida L. Antonio as Chairman, the board also included Dr. Godofreda V. Dalmacion, Dr. Eleanor B. Almoro, Dr. Martha O. Nucum, Dr. Efren C. Laxamana, and Dr. Joanna V. Remo.
OLFU’s College of Medicine has a rich tradition of excellence. Its current Associate Dean, Dr. Jose Arnel Manalili Jr., an alumnus from Batch 1989, was the institution’s first-ever topnotcher, securing the coveted Top 1 spot during his PLE stint. His legacy continues to inspire and guide the next generation of medical professionals.
The college and the entire Fatimanian community stand tall, brimming with pride for its new physicians, who are now poised to serve and uphold the institution’s commitment to improving man as man.
As the new physicians await their Professional Identification Cards (IDs) and Certificates of Registration, the initial registration is available via PRC’s official website.
PRC, on a later date, will announce the schedule and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees. – Raymond Lumagsao
