The Fatima Tribune, the official publication of Our Lady of Fatima University, was awarded the first place in the nationwide Biotech Campus Journalism Competition organized by the Philippine Science Journalists Association Incorporated (PSciJourn), AGHAM Party List, the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAA), and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture-Biotechnology Information Center (SEARCA BIC).

 

The entry of Eddie D. Dulpina, Assistant Sports Editor of the Tribune, “The Enormous Benefits and Potentials of Modern Crop Biotechnology in the Philippines” bested more than 90 entries of other colleges and universities based from their substance, content, originality, analysis and adherence to the theme, logic, organization, coherence, style, and presentation. The competition aimed to encourage students to research on modern crop biotech and interview Filipino scientists, biotech corn farmers, and regulators of biotech crops.

 

Dulpina received a cash prize of P15,000.00, a plaque, and the AGHAM Congressional Medal.
