The College of Nursing of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) held its annual capping and oathtaking ceremonies last July 22, 2015 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.  The capping ceremony was attended by sophomore students from Valenzuela Campus.  On the other hand, the oathtaking was attended by the newly registered nurses who passed the May 2014 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) from the three OLFU campuses: Valenzuela, Quezon City and Antipolo.  Five hundred fifty seven (557) nursing graduates from OLFU passed this board examination.  These ceremonies were witnessed by their parents and guardians together with the Coordinators, Program Heads, and faculty members from the College of Nursing.

The oathtaking ceremony is a public acknowledgment of the new duties and responsibilities of the newly registered nurses.  The guest speaker during the oathtaking was Ms. Glenda Arqiza, PhD, RN, Member of the Board of Nursing of the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC).  Dr. Arqiza congratulated all OLFU’s board passers and welcomed them in the nursing profession.

In the May 2015 NLE, two OLFU graduates made it to the Top 10.  Ms. Christine Mae A. Galeon from Quezon City Campus and Ms. Michele Abby C. Maranan from Valenzuela City Campus got the Top 3 and Top 4 spots, respectively.

The two ceremonies started with a thanksgiving mass both officiated by Rev. Fr. Lito Caliwag, University Chaplain.
