The Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) continues to rise to the top as it attained two recognitions in the March 2019 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination.
First, the Valenzuela Campus emerged as the Top 9 Performing School with an overall passing rate of 81.82%. This merit was earned by OLFU out of 132 institutions that took part in the said edition.
The campus also produced a 92.77% passing rate for first takers.
The University’s four other campuses also performed well in the licensures; the Antipolo Campus reached an 89.58% overall passing rate, while the Quezon City Campus generated 79.41%.
Combining the performance of the five campuses, OLFU achieved an overall passing rate of 74.57%, exceeding the overall national passing rate of 68.45%.
In addition to these, the College is also celebrating another topnotch feat — Quezon City Campus’ Prince Reneir A. Malacaste impressively ranked Top 3 among the 2,801 passers with a rating of 90.70%.
A cum laude graduate, Malacaste shared that his journey to his dream degree in Medical Laboratory Science brought challenges – challenges that changed him for the better. “It tested my endurance, skills, intelligence and more importantly my character”, he said. Nonetheless, the young aspirant did not let the trials bring him down; he stood firmly throughout his four years, “inspired and motivated” by professors and instructors, who had been very eager to mold students into competent and compassionate practitioners.
