On 01 September 2018, the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management (CHIM) of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) declared “game on!” at the University of the Philippines TourCon 2018. And CHIM did wear their “game faces” and bagged some awards during the huge event.

Mainly composed of CHIM students from the Valenzuela and Quezon City campuses, the teams competed in all the categories, namely the: Tourism and Hospitality Research Poster Competition, Destination Marketing Plan Competition, and Event Management Plan Competition. More than 20 colleges and universities from all over the country joined this year’s competition.

OLFU-CHIM brought home the following awards:

Tourism and Hospitality Research Poster Competition- CHAMPION- Patricia Alvarez and Geraldine To (3rd Year TM- QC); 3rd PLACE- Jamillah Patricia San Diego, Andrea Botohan, Joy Kristine Villamor, Cherry Ann Sarosal, Jhynn Audrey Egbalic and Bernadeth Alyson Colangoy (3rd Year TM- Valenzuela), and FINALIST- Jhanlester Lorenzo, Stephanie Rieza and Veronica Alanzalon (3rd Year TM- QC).

Destination Marketing Plan Competition- 2nd PLACE- Allana Quilatest, John Christian Pagnes, Regina Salingsing, Nicole Bernadeth Puno and Harold Marticio (4th Year TM- Valenzuela); SEMI-FINALIST- Irene Kenneth Decierto, Cheska Fukagawa, Ma. Patricia Ann Ramirez and Jo-Anne Ceniza (3rd Year TM- QC)

Event Management Plan Competition- SEMI-FINALIST- Jay Em San Gaspar, Pauline Andrea Libunao, Jessa Mae Manila, Samantha Denise Pagtulingan and Christopher Jonas España (4th Year HRM- QC)

Prof. Armina A. Javier and Prof. Riza Delos Santos served as delegation heads, accompanied by the QC Campus coaches and chaperones— Prof. Raffy M. Dizon, Dr. Aisha Janinne Escabillas, Maria Paz Castro and Princess Jullah Petallana; and the Valenzuela Campus coaches and chaperones— Prof. Arjay Punongbayan and Prof. Arlene Par.

OLFU congratulates the participants and winners, and celebrates CHIM’s steady stream of wins in the said convention in the past five years.
