It was a first attempt for the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU)- Pampanga Campus to field students to take the Information Technology Security (ITS) Exam, a third-party certification test. The two students, Noah Reyes and LA Reyes, did an amazing job by passing the tough qualifying exam upon the first take. Noah passed the Cybersecurity exam, while LA made the marks for the Network Security exam. This took place during the Regional Assembly on Information Technology Education (RAITE), a virtual event held last 21 October 2022 and hosted by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators or familiarly known as PSITE.

With the event goal geared towards the significance of computer security in today’s learning environment, ITE educators and students from 20 Region III schools, industry professionals, and IT partners joined the event.

Presently, there are no professional licensure exams for computer studies which is why certification exams like the one on ITS are especially meaningful to IT educators and learners because these provide indicators on the levels of efficacy of teaching and learning where computer studies is concerned. For students, it boosts their confidence because passing these kinds of tests give them that seal of being at par with industry needs and standards.

During the same RAITE event, OLFU Pampanga’s Executives Team also placed 2nd Runner-Up in the E-Games on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Likewise, this was a maiden attempt for OLFU Pampanga to join the RAITE E-Games tilt.
