With the increasing fondness of Filipinos towards Korean culture, Our Lady of Fatima University’s (OLFU) Basic Education Department (BED) welcomed last 27 July 2018, 16 Korean students from Songbuk Elementary School for a Student Exchange Program. The Filipino contingent represented by the BED students, displayed their excitement through warm smiles, greetings, and a special Korean-Filipino infused dance performance. The Korean students likewise expressed their appreciation by presenting their own talents. They also showed a glimpse of Korea with a slideshow about the history and culture of their country. The event was graced by BED Administrator Rafael Vicente S. Enriquez and BED Principal Barry H. Dio.

During their stay, the Korean students—with the guidance of Exchange Program Coordinator John Louie DC. Alejandro and OLFU-BED faculty members—were able to visit some of the iconic tourist spots in Metro Manila such as the Luneta Park, National Museum, Ayala Museum and Manila Cathedral, where they learned a lot about Philippine history and culture.

As student exchange programs like this prosper between OLFU and Songbuk, both schools believe that international exposure for their students will nurture their openness and acceptance of cultural differences across the globe.
