In a gathering of the globe’s most passionate physical therapists, the World Physiotherapy Congress unfolded on June 02 to 04, 2023 showcasing groundbreaking studies and fostering collaborative discussions among physical therapists from various disciplines. Held every two years, the enviable event is recognized as the pinnacle of happenings in the arena of physical therapy.

Hosted in the vibrant city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the congress welcomed over 2,000 delegates hailing from a widely diverse assemblage of nations from the four corners of the globe. Renowned keynote speakers, during the opening ceremonies, set the tone for a three-day exploration of the latest breakthroughs and advancements in their respective fields.

Representing Our Lady of Fatima University-College of Physical Therapy (OLFU-CPT) and going side-by-side with their international counterparts in this massive affair were educators Jowil Anton Deray, Justine Vincent Ramos, and Rowena Alejo who all presented their program research output. Deray participated in the plenary presentation, while Ramos and Alejo showcased their printed poster and e-poster, respectively. OLFU-CPT Dean Hernan Labao also attended the prestigious conference in support of CPT’s trio of presenters.

Additionally, the World Physiotherapy Congress opened up the opportunity for the OLFU-CPT delegates to meet Rachel Lowe, founder of Physioplus— an industry partner of OLFU.

Finally, nostalgia was also in the air when the OLFU delegates reunited with some CPT Alumni who are already living their best lives and practicing the PT profession in the United Arab Emirates.
