Members of the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) Shotokan Karate-do Club bagged medals in the 1st Shihankai Karate-do Tournament held last June 7, 2015 at the Robinson’s Magnolia Mall in Quezon City.  This tournament was hosted by the Philippine Karate-do Federation(PKF)-NSA, Inc. and participated by different Karate Clubs all over the country.

In the Advance Kumite Category, OLFU bets got the three top spots.  They are Arsenia Fernandez, 3rd Year Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy student, gold medal; Mary Ann Gregorio and Christopher Hutalla, both Bachelor of Science in Criminology students bagged the silver and bronze medal, respectively.  Nicole Ann J. Hiponia, on the other hand, also a student of Bachelor of Science in Criminology, got the silver medal in the Intermediate Kata (16 to 17 years old bracket).

Members of the OLFU Shotokan Karate-do Club also won last year in different national karate competitions sponsored by the PKF-NSA, Inc., a member of the Philippine Olympic Committee, Asian Karate-do Federation and World Karate Federation.  Mr. Alberto M. Alvarez, a faculty member of the College of Criminal Justice, is the club adviser of OLFU Shotokan Karate-do Club.
