OLFU Pam - Health Regional Forum

Recently, Our Lady of Fatima University-Pampanga once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence in health research as the campus was recognized in the recently concluded 9th Regional Health Research Forum organized by the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon Health Research and Development Consortium (CLHRDC) on April 25–26, 2024, in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Raising the banner of the College of Physical Therapy, Prof. Justine Vincent Ramos secured third place in the Oral Research Presentation—Professional Category. His research presentation showcased innovative insights and practical applications in the field of physical therapy.

The university also celebrates the success of its finalists, including Christine C. Silvestre from the College of Physical Therapy who qualified in the Digital Poster Research Contest. Moreover, Sophia Loren L. Matawaran, a student from the College of Nursing, also impressed the judges in the Oral Research Presentation—Student Category. Her eloquent presentation underscored the importance of nursing research in improving patient outcomes.

Behind these achievements lies the unwavering support of the Research Development and Innovation Center (RDIC)-Pampanga. Spearheaded by Dr. Adrian Bon B. Santiago, the RDIC played a pivotal role in nurturing research excellence. Likewise, the center’s research specialists, Mayelle S. Magat and Christian Edward G. Celis, also provided invaluable guidance to the participants.

Equally, Prof. Alma Reina Alejandro, a mentor from the College of Nursing, is also credited for this said achievement. Her mentorship and encouragement bolstered the confidence of the finalists, enabling them to shine on the regional stage.

The competition was fierce, with top minds from various institutions vying for recognition but the university’s commitment to advancing health research in Central Luzon resonated with the audience.

As the university celebrates this feat, it remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of knowledge. Faculty, students, and researchers alike are inspired to explore new frontiers and make meaningful contributions to healthcare and medicine—both a tribute and a constant response to the university’s dictum, “to improve man as man.”
