The council members of the Research Development and Innovation Center have recently undergone training on patent search at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines in McKinley Hill, Taguig City last July 23 and 24 and August 4 to 6, 2015. The training focused on the essentials of intellectual property in the local and international perspective, the coverage of Republic Act 8293 titled as the Philippine Intellectual Property Law, and the utilities of patent searching for validation of applied patents. The following members of the research council attended the said event: Ms. Jenica Ana Rivero, Dr. Angelita Rodriguez, Mr. Rafael Dimaala, Engr. Mary Regina Apsay, Mr. Christian Del Rosario and Ms. Dianne Eraphie Tabo-on. The research department of the Our Lady of Fatima University aims to extend the services of the Philippine IP Office to the university through the establishment of its own Innovation and Technbology Support Office (ITSO) franchise. This will fulfill the university’s vision of an institution fully capable of supporting and protecting the intellectual property of its scholars and innovators
