The College of Education (COE) welcomed representatives from various industry partners to COE’s very first Academe-Industry Linkages and Pathways (AILP) Dialogue last 18 May 2016 at the Dolcelatte Café and Gourmet Bakeshop at South Triangle, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
With the aim of strengthening ties between academe and industry, the AILP is a heritage program of OLFU dedicated in helping launch the careers of its students by facilitating their immersion in internships and other enriching and relevant industry-based programs. Partner-industries are categorized into four (4) areas, namely: Experiential Learning, Reference/ Resource Materials, Professional Organizations and LET Review.
Dr. Elmer S. Hidalgo, Dean of the College of Education, spearheaded this AILP event. He was ably supported by the Program Heads of four (4) OLFU campuses: Valenzuela’s Dr. Benjamin A. Dillena, Jr.; Quezon City’s Mrs. Clarita DJ. Tanghal; Antipolo’s Dr. Hansel Hope A. Perez, and Pampanga’s Dr. Marietta A. Eballe.
Gracing the affair were OLFU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School Dr. Heracleo D. Lagrada, together with the Campus Administrators: Antipolo’s Engr. Wilfredo M. Basilio and Pampanga’s Dean Muriel Caballero.
COE’s AILP was deemed a huge success, also owing to the presence of School Division representatives and the private school Principals from the campuses of Valenzuela, Quezon City, Caloocan, Antipolo and Pampanga. Likewise, there was solid participation coming from invited LET Review Centers (Mindgym, Inc. and Genesis Allied Professions Corporation), and publishing companies (Rex Bookstore, Inc., and Lorimar Publishing, Inc.).

COE’s Dean Hidalgo expressed his gratitude for the Industry Partners’ show of commitment in advancing the capabilities of the Philippines’ human resource, and in accelerating the development of globally-competent professionals. He also showed appreciation of these companies’ generous and unfailing support of OLFU’s programs and activities; all which have resulted in the school’s attainment of quality and excellence in higher education.

Principal Tapales’ praise stems from the five (5) teachers currently working in his school who are all OLFU Antipolo BEEd graduates, major in Early Childhood Education. One of this stellar team is Ms. Misha P. Delloro, Top 10 in the January 2014 LET Examinations.
Mr. Tapales added, “We look forward to the university providing us with the best teachers that our school needs.”
Closing the main event was a heart-warming testimonial by a successful alumna, Ms. Maria Joanna D. Sidayen. She said, “The knowledge, skills and values I learned from my Alma Mater, cooperating schools and review center, made me the teacher I am today.” Ms. Sidayen landed in the Top 10 in the September 2013 LET Examinations, and is currently a full-time faculty member of the COE, Antipolo Campus. “I believe that my students/our students will also experience this fulfilment. They may even exceed the achievements that we have today. And I strongly believe that learning is not confined within the four corners of the classroom. Working with you is a key to that success. So let’s work together as partners to improve man as man through educating and training future educators. Their success is our success,” she stressed.
