CHIM-QC wins at 27th Philippine Travel Mart

And it’s another win for the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management- Quezon City Campus (CHIM- QC) of the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU). Fielded representatives won in various categories last 03 September 2016 at the recently concluded 27th Philippine Travel Mart- Special Events, held at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

Khristian Yumul Paras (BSTM, 2nd Year) bagged the 1st Runner-Up Award at the Himig ng Kundiman competition. He sang “Dahil Sa ‘Yo”, written and composed by Mike Velarde, Jr., as his choice piece, and masterfully interpreted, “Iniibig Kita”, the contest piece. This is the second victory for CHIM- QC in the same competition.

On the other hand, Henric Michael Fabros and Divine Ezhra Alemaña, both B.S. Travel Management 4th Year Students, won 1st Runner-Up at the Patimpalak ng Kasuotang Filipino Competition- Male and Female categories, respectively. Wearing intricately hand-painted designs depicting the Philippine sunset, the duo wowed the judges not only with the Filipiniana they were wearing but also with their elegance and poise. The attires were made from banana and piña fabrics sourced from Lumban, Laguna, and decorated with twigs, floral designs, corn bits, and black embroidery.

In the Quiz Bee category, John Paul Aclao (BSTM, 4th Year), Allysa Venice Jamotillo (BSTM, 3rd Year), and Geraldine To (BSTM, 2nd Year) represented the University.

The team was coached by Tourism Practicum Coordinator Marck Bryan A. David and CHIM- QC Program Head Armina A. Javier.
