VALENZUELA CITY, Metro Manila – Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) has recently launched fresh opportunities for its alumni and students as it formally sealed a partnership with Hosco, an international network for the hospitality industry, last July 11, 2018. Spearheaded by OLFU’s College of Hospitality and Institutional Management (OLFU-CHIM), Hosco has provided the University with an exclusive “unified network” that makes the University’s alumni and future graduates highly-visible to Hosco’s expansive and global network of top-rung, potential employers within the hospitality industry.

Fatima becomes the first university from the Philippines to forge this particular type of linkage with Hosco.

“…I see clear potential for internationalization of the Philippines through OLFU, and the reason is because, you may not realize it ‘cause you go through it every day, but your level and understanding of English and international opportunities is key to the industry,” said Hosco Director for Development John Lohr at the tie-up launch.

“Filipino talents have a natural element of hospitality. It comes from your DNA, and that is the number one reason employers hire people – it’s not on skill; it’s on personality,” he added.

Collaborating with the world’s leading and most reputable companies in the hospitality industry, Hosco serves as the OLFU graduates’ gateway to multiple employment opportunities.  Additionally, OLFU graduates can also share numerous job posts with peers within the University’s unique online space and, moreover, access helpful resources such as articles and videos on building up their careers. OLFU students may get a head start as they learn about industry trends, needs and wants; preparing them way ahead before launching their respective careers.

OLFU- CHIM Dean Dr. Ignacio C. Cordova, Jr., CHE expressed the college’s excitement for the program, stressing the importance of building connections and networks in the hospitality industry. According to him, this is a “good platform” for CHIM’s alumni and future graduates. Notably, Hosco is also a career-search platform for Fatima’s other graduates from non-hospitality programs who would want to explore careers within the hospitality sector, servicing conduits such as HR, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, and more.

Inducted a Hosco partner, OLFU now joins the ranks of top hospitality schools from around the globe such as Switzerland’s Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne, and Hong Kong’s The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

“Here at Fatima, we try to go the extra mile and we believe that this is the first step in making sure that, beyond educating you, we look for opportunities for our graduates,” OLFU President Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez told students in her inspirational message, wherein she also encouraged the students to make the most out of their stay in the University.

“Whatever you do, think that in spite of all the hard work that you have to undergo as students, in the end, you will shine because you went through fire”, she said. “By going through fire, I guarantee you will be better employees”.

OLFU graduates, as well as students, interested in landing a career and creating connections in the hospitality industry may now sign up to join the University’s Hosco platform through https://olfu.hosco.com
