Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) has been officially recognized as a TESDA-accredited Assessment Center. The awarding ceremony, held on 14 March 2025, took place at Le Monet, San Lorenzo Hall, and was attended by key officials from both OLFU and TESDA-CAMANAVA.

This achievement reflects the efforts of the OLFU College of Hospitality and Institutional Management (CHIM), in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), to provide students with valuable opportunities to obtain industry certifications.

Attendees of the ceremony included OLFU representatives, led by Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez, University President; Dr. Ignacio C. Cordova, Jr., Dean of CHIM and the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA); various program heads and Supervised Work Experience Program (SWEP) coordinators from OLFU campuses; as well as Mr. Miguelito de Guzman, TESDA Coordinator. Representatives from TESDA-CAMANAVA, including Mr. PJ Ramos, TESDA-Navotas Training Institute (TNTI) Administrator, and Mr. Maxine Cajayon, Competency Assessment Focal Person, were also present.

The Certificate of Accreditation granted to OLFU covers ten qualifications: Ship’s Catering Services NC I, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Cookery NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Front Office Services NC II, Tourism Promotion Services NC II, Housekeeping NC II, Housekeeping NC III, Events Management Services NC III, and Housekeeping IV.

Mr. Ramos expressed his delight and affirmed the certification granted to OLFU, stating, “Natutuwa po ako na ang mga kilalang university nakikipag-partnership na po sa TESDA, at kung kailangan niyo po ng tulong, nandito lang ang TESDA dahil ‘Sa TESDA, Kayang-Kaya,’” [“I am pleased to see prominent universities partnering with TESDA. If you need help, TESDA is always here because, ‘Sa TESDA, Kayang-Kaya,’”] he said.

Dr. Cordova also emphasized that this milestone marks the beginning of OLFU’s efforts to ensure its students attain industry certification through TESDA. He noted that this achievement aligns with OLFU’s vision of “improving man as man” and CHIM’s commitment to future-proofing students through industry certification and skills validation.
