In a resounding affirmation of its global standing, Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) has once again demonstrated its prowess in innovation, cementing its rankings and securing commendable Top 100 positions in three key categories within the prestigious World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) for 2024.

Amid present competition from a multitude of academic institutions this year, OLFU has risen to the esteemed Top 144 position out of 300 innovative universities worldwide. It can be recalled that in 2022 and 2023, the six-campus university consistently joined the Global Top 101-200 Innovative Universities in the distinguished WURI list.

The “Home of the Topnotchers” also claimed prominent positions in the WURI 2024 key categories. Notably, the university surged to the 32nd rank in Support for Global Resilience for its “CRIB3 Crusade: Championing Infant’s Healthy Head Start through Breastfeeding and Breastmilk Banking” project, solidifying its commitment to addressing pressing global challenges. Additionally, OLFU sealed the 38th position in Generative AI Application for its “Graduate School Integrity Framework,” showcasing its leadership in the said cutting-edge technology, and clinched the 53rd spot in Industrial Application for its project named “YupiRa: Creating a Manually Operated Waste Compression System in Practicing Plastic Waste Disposal,” highlighting its contributions to industry advancement.

In 2023, it is worth recalling that OLFU also garnered significant recognition from WURI by claiming the prominent Top 50 position for its contributions to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Indisputably, this back-to-back acknowledgment highlights the university’s pivotal role in driving transformative change and shaping the future of the academic industry, especially amid rapid technological advancement.

The unveiling of the WURI 2024 rankings took place during the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) conference last Friday, 7 June 2024, in Switzerland.

The evaluation process for the WURI 2024 rankings was meticulous, with each of the thirteen categories assessed based on three fundamental criteria: innovativeness, implementability, and impact.
