In a significant effort to bridge the gap between academic instruction and practical application, the College of Criminal Justice of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) hosted the 2025 Academe-Industry/Agency Linkages and Pathways (AILP) Business Meeting and Action Planning on 02 April 2025, at the Galleria Building, OLFU Maysan Annex in Valenzuela City.

The forum brought together distinguished representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Tri-Bureau—the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)—particularly from the National Capital Region and CAMAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Valenzuela) stations, as well as the Quezon City Police District. Other key stakeholders included officials from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) – Manila and MTARO Law Firm.

Also in attendance were student-leaders in Criminology and Forensic Science, Program Heads, Practicum Coordinators and Handlers, and selected faculty and staff members from all six OLFU campuses. The college also welcomed several of its alumni, who actively contributed to the exchange of ideas during the plenary discussions.

The AILP meeting served as a strategic platform to assess ongoing collaborations and to develop new pathways for stronger integration of theoretical and experiential learning in the field of criminal justice. Key issues, operational concerns, and actionable suggestions were addressed in an open dialogue between academic leaders and industry practitioners.

The initiative reaffirmed the shared commitment between OLFU and its partner agencies to support the training of future professionals in criminal justice. Central to the discussions was the development of programs that would provide more robust practicum experiences, enhance career preparation, and align academic outcomes with industry demands.

Through strengthened linkages and sustained collaboration, the AILP Business Meeting underscored OLFU’s mission to continuously enhance the quality of its academic offerings while promoting industry responsiveness and social relevance in the field of criminal justice education.
