Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) takes pride in its students who bring the Fatimanian values of Truth and Compassion in their undertakings as future professionals and global citizens. Simple acts of kindness truly uplift people and even change lives; hence, it is but fitting to celebrate stories of goodwill and solidarity in the community.

Last November 2020, Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco) ravaged several parts of North Luzon, causing casualties and affecting many families. Responding to the call of the situation, OLFU Valenzuela’s Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) organized the SIDYAPTIYA Donation Drive to raise monetary and in-kind assistance for the victims.

The initiative, headed by the organization’s Vice President for Finance, Tiffany Mae S. Bok, ran from November 14 to 17, and the acceptance of monetary donations was extended until November 18. Throughout its duration, the student organization regularly posted updates on their Facebook page for transparency.

In-kind donations were directly delivered to JPIA’s chosen beneficiaries in Montalban, Rizal. The monetary donations, which amounted to around Php 15,000, were likewise used to purchase relief goods and essential hygiene kits for packing and distribution.

On November 19, the donation drive’s relief packs were distributed to the beneficiaries in Barangay Wawa and Barangay San Jose, Kasiglahan Village, Montalban, Rizal. Through the generosity of the donors and sponsors, as well as the efforts of the officers and volunteers, the SIDYAPTIYA Donation Drive helped a total of 60 families.
