Every homecoming is a chance to create new memories aside from reminiscing the old ones. With an added twist to the usual get-togethers and parties, the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) College of Physical Therapy (PT) Batch 1997 takes on a more meaningful reunion as they decided to gather for a greater cause.

Coming together after 22 years at the OLFU Tamaraw Building, Valenzuela Campus, the PT Batch 1997 donated 15 units of Blood Pressure apparatus to OLFU’s partner community—Santa Brigida located in Karuhatan, Valenzuela last 12 October 2019. The residents of Santa Brigida went to OLFU and personally met the alumni and thanked them for their generosity. Neil Suñer of the OLFU Social Orientation and Community Involvement Office was also present at the turnover ceremony where he expressed his gratefulness and admiration to the batch’s initiative to help the residents.

“It only means that you have developed a passion to serve our community”, he said.

The group also enjoyed a tour around the OLFU RISE Tower where they saw the changes and innovations that have taken place since their time at the University. Another highlight of their homecoming was a 90’s themed party at the C3 Events Place in Greenhills where they enjoyed a night of reminiscing, fun games, and vigorous dancing.

Dr. Mary Anne Santos Dean of the College of Physical Therapy, and Robert Bjorn Santos Director of the Alumni Affairs Office, along with the former students’ beloved teachers from the college accepted the invitation to the said party and joined the celebration.

“As we get older, we feel the need to see each other, and it [seeing each other] makes us feel good.” Robert said in his short message for them.

Plans for another reunion are also in the works for their 25th anniversary aside from the upcoming Grand Alumni Homecoming on January 18, 2020 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel that will be a gathering for OLFU’s alumni of Undergraduate Programs, Dentistry, and Graduate School.
