Our Lady of Fatima University – CHIM Supervised Work Experience Program on its continuous pursuit for quality training, both international and local, forged partnership with Centre for Logistics and Management Studies and Open University Malaysia last December 12, 2012 – Wednesday at San Lorenzo Building, Fine Dining Room in OLFU Valenzuela City campus.

Centre for Logistics and Management Studies (CLMS) is an exclusive agency representing Open University Malaysia, a distance learning university founded by a consortium of 11 government or public universities in Malaysia that offers more than 70 courses at various levels of certification aimed in enhancing vocational skills as well as improving professional competency for career advancement of individuals. CLMS will assist OLFU Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) students to experience quality training or practicum.

The following are the host establishments in Malaysia that offers practicum to our students, namely:

 

  • Resorts World, Genting
  • Souled Out Restaurant and Café
  • Concorde Hotel In Kuala Lumpur
  • The Spice Garden in Kuala Lumpur, Genting, Bukit, Bintang/Klang
  • Trident Ace in Bangsar/Kuala Lumpur
  • Tetrasol in Ampang/Kuala Lumpur
  • CafeLink Restaurant Café
  • Seven Ate Nine in Ascot/Kuala Lumpur

 

Qualified BSHRM students will have Malaysia Practicum for Six (6) months with allowance and free board and lodging.

 

On the other hand, Open University Malaysia (OUM) is one of the centers of education excellence for adult learners in Malaysia and has established itself as a leading institute for adult learning programmes within and outside Malaysia. OLFU CHIM has started academic partnerships with OUM.

 

On January 2013, there are three (3) BSHRM students who will be leaving for Malaysia Practicum and will be assigned at Souled Out Restaurant at Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, namely: Mary Grace D. Salao, Ma. Eva Andrea Agustin and Edwin Torrechila.

 

The College of Hospitality and Institutional Management, Supervised Work Experience Program is committed to achieve its ISO quality objectives whereby one of these is increasing the number of industry-partners for collaborative alliances and undertakings both local and international.
