Taking centerstage at the 33rd International Nursing Research Conference (INRC) was the presentation of research from Dr. Michael Joseph Dino, Director of the Research Development and Innovation Center (RDIC) of Our Lady of Fatima University.

Held last July 20 to 25, 2022 in Edinburgh, Scotland in the United Kingdom, the INRC is an annual research event hosted by the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing (Sigma Nursing) which is the second largest nursing organization in the world that champions its mission of “developing nurse leaders anywhere to improve healthcare everywhere”.

Espousing the theme, “Transforming Global Nursing Knowledge Through Research, Scholarship, and Innovation”, the INRC 2022 featured over 1,000 nurse researchers, students, clinicians, and industry leaders from around the globe who are of one goal and that is to promote research and evidence-based practice. OLFU was one of the event supporters and the only Higher Education Institution (HEI) from the Philippines to be one.

Dr. Dino joined the in-person event through a grant courtesy of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Research Dissemination in Local and International Platforms (RDLIP) which is under the umbrella of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). In the Scotland convention, he showcased his paper, “Human-Humanoid Technology (HT) Interactions in Nursing Education Simulations: A Multinational, Multicenter, Mixed Method Study”, which is a component of a more extensive institutional study on simulation conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

OLFU RDIC Director Dino is also the President of the Phi Gamma Chapter, the first and only virtual chapter of Sigma Nursing. Further, he is a recipient of Sigma Nursing’s Emerging Nursing Researcher Award and Research Grant in 2019 and 2022, respectively, and an active member of the NRCP’s Social Science Division.

Other papers from OLFU presented at the INRC 2022 were:
