The OLFU College of Physical Therapy faculty-led research entitled “Disability Profile of BAI-MARESAS Community: Basis for Community-Based Rehabilitation” was awarded the Platinum Award (Second Prize) for Best Oral Research Presentation during the 2013 International Conference  on Multidisciplinary Research (ICMURE) held last Feb. 7-9, 2013 at the La Planta  Hotel in collaboration with La Consolacion College of Bacolod.  The research was presented by Ms. Odette S. Justo, PTRP MRS, enjoined by one of her co-authors, Mr. Hernan C. Labao, PTRP. The other co-authors were Maybelle Anne Zamora, PTRP and Mr. Justine Vincent Ramos, PTRP.

The College of PT faculty research was accepted and chosen among more than 450 entries all over the world for oral presentation—the only research coming from OLFU and from a school of Physical Therapy. The research was applauded because despite of its simplicity it captures the realities of a poverty-stricken community which serve as a basis for a community rehabilitation program.  Likewise, the judges and audience were impressed by the presentation after a brief history of the university and all its campuses were presented. The OLFU delegates were also appointed as session judges during the conference.

As the OLFU College of PT, embark into new challenges and conquer them—it is living on its mantra of “RAISING THE BAR FOR EXCELLENCE”.
