“A breath of fresh, envigorating air” describes the coup of six students of the program, Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT)- Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU). They snapped up the Best Paper (Student Category) plum in the 18th Association of Respiratory Care Practitioners of the Philippines, Inc. (ARCPP) General Assembly and Annual Conference conducted last July 21–22, 2022.
Ruth Ayanna Lopez, as primary investigator of OLFU’s winning BSRT team, presented the winning piece entitled “Will Over Matter: The Trait Emotional Intelligence and Smoking Abstinence Expectancies of Young Adult Smokers in Caloocan City” during the final round of the research tilt. The rest of the team members include Louise Aedrienne Boller, Karl Francis Canonizado, Kimberly Cavile, Omar Raquib Harain, and Van Harris R. Retana. Out of fourteen (14) submissions from different colleges and universities, only three (3) entries were chosen to present for the finals. BSRT is a program offered through OLFU’s College of Physical Therapy.
