Annyeong And Mabuhay! Olfu And Eoyeon Elementary School Engage In Student Exchange Program

The month of July was certainly fruitful for the Our Lady of Fatima University Basic Education Department (OLFU BED). Last July 15-18, 2019, four (4) BED students from the Valenzuela Campus together with BED officers and faculty went to one of OLFU’s partner schools in South Korea—Eoyeon Elementary School. The warm welcome was spearheaded by the said institution’s Principal Kim Myung Gi.

The students enjoyed various cultural activities such as K-pop classes, Fusion Food classes, Pen Tok making and even a Robotics class. They also explored some famous attractions like Gyeongbokgung Palace and Lotte World Adventures along with other students from Eoyeon.

Subsequent to this, teachers and students from Eoyeon Elementary School were also able to experience the culture and the educational setting in the Philippines shortly after the BED student’s visit in South Korea.

The Korean youth delegation were treated to a tour of Manila where they witnessed the cultural preservation of the city through museums and a number of historical spots. Also, strengthening the ties between the two schools were team building activities held at the Paradise Adventure Camp in San Jose del Monte Bulacan.

The student exchange program was led by BED Valenzuela Campus Principal Barry H. Dio, Student Activity Coordinator Dennes C. Olasiman, Athletics Coordinator Mary Catherine Manibo, and Student Discipline Officer John Louie Alejandro.
