In the latest installment of the Physician Licensure Examinations (PLE) in March 2017, three Fatimanians emerged as trailblazers, placing in the Top 10 roster. These are:
Dr. Alvin Lester S. Villas, 87.17%
“I would describe myself as both typical and different. I'm a normal person who daydreams of being a rockstar playing in front of screaming and crying crowds, and crazy things like stealing [Bruno Mars’] talents; yet, I’m uncommon in that I don't dwell on stuff that people nowadays do. I'm just a laid back guy [whose] social media presence is probably less than your Mom's, and who keeps my circle few but intact. My fulfillment is just getting enough sleep at night--or day--and waking up having the same people around and a purpose to live by.”
Dr. Mina Liza D. Cariño, 86.17%
“Aside from books and unending notes, I love reading Manga and watching anime shows. I enjoy traveling, watching new movies, eating different kinds of foods but, more than anything else, I like sleeping.”
Dr. Aizel Jane C. Lim, 86.00%
“I’m known by many as a quiet and shy classmate. But to those who [know] me personally, they would say that I’m funny, playful, and friend you can depend on. Apart from studying, I spend most of my time watching Korean dramas, listening to music and playing mobile games.”
Super brains, they may have, yet OLFU also celebrates the fact that this trio are regular, down-to-earth kind of people with dreams and interests the same as any Juan or Maria. And OLFU certainly has quite a number of brilliant Juans and Marias.
As OLFU celebrates its 50th Founding Year in 2017, this wonderful news makes this year doubly joyful, and the Fatimanians doubly proud.
Congratulations, Dr. Alvin, Dr. Mina, Dr. Aizel, and to the University’s 98 other newly-licensed Doctors of Medicine. Salute!
