Students Flock to the Org Fair
July 15,2016

It’s not all about academics at the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU). With its Department of Co-Curricular Affairs (DCCA), formation of student organizations is highly-encouraged to respond to a college student’s yearning for interests not necessarily associated with his or her program. This is part and parcel of the University’s goal of molding individuals into well-rounded people. So at Fatima, whether the interest is music, sports, mathematics, writing, science or arts & crafts, there is a student organization that is sure to fit the liking.

In line with engaging as many students as possible, the DCA hosted the Student Organizations Fair through July 7-9 and 11, 2016. Various organizations manned their respective booths at the Valenzuela Campus’ Main Quadrangle to invite and entice both college and senior high school (SHS) students to sign up. Themed “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work”, each “org” took the opportunity to show students what their group is all about; their focus, activities, events and more.

Strong rains did nothing but spur on the 153 dedicated student leaders to showcase their talents and share their knowledge with the fair attendees.  Further, appreciation goes out to groups who gamely wowed fair attendees with special performances: the Corps of Midshipman Officers-Drills, the Fatima Dance Troupe and the OLFU Chorale.

Senior High School

Senior High School students were able to share in the fun, too, through games cooked up by the various organizations, and with guidance from Co-Curricular Coordinator Ma. Lea Patricia Dayrit.During the fair, many SHS students registered for their chosen organization, which would be one of the following: Campus Ministry, Math and Science Club, Sports Club/ Varsity Team, Creative Arts Guild and Performing Arts. And the number of registrants is still presently growing.
