Class Suspension for Wednesday (15 August 2018) Pampanga Campus- No classes in all levels. Offices will be open.
A new effort, which is the Philippine Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) Community-Based Rehabilitation Special Interest Group (CBR SIG), was recently launched. Playing host was the Quezon City campus of the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU- QC).
The formal birth of the said group coincided with the PPTA’s 3rd general assembly last 13 August 2016 at the College of Arts & Sciences Building of OLFU-QC. The PPTA is composed of Physical Therapy (PT) Instructors across the country. And within this association, PT faculty members of OLFU- QC’s College of Physical Therapy are part of the core group that comprises the CBR SIG. Hence, the campus served as the venue for the launch of the sub-group, and sponsored the seminar that day; thereby adding more dimension to the event.
The CBR SIG ran their first free seminar/ workshop, and welcomed all PPTA members and non-members. Aside from electing committee heads, the seminar intended to gather PPTA members who are in CBR practice; the academe and clinical educators who teach CBR, and PT professionals who are interested to know more about CBR practice.
OLFU QC’s Bachelor of Sciences in Physical Therapy (BSPT) 4th Year students gave a helping hand during the event, led by LallyMaglatang, PT Society President. She is also Vice President for External Affairs of the Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students (APPTS) and a member of the Executive Committee in the Asian Physial Therapy Student Association (APTSA). An enlightening and fruitful experience, attendees came away with more knowledge about community-based rehabilitation, and the workings of how to implement such a program.
It was a privilege for OLFU to demonstrate its support and commitment to value-adding, nationwide events. Rise to the Top!
