Papal Nuncio Relays Greetings on OLFU’s 50th Anniversary
February 22,2017

In the event of the 50th Anniversary milestone of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), the University considers it an immense blessing and honor to have received a message from Vatican envoy, Most Reverend Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto. The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines for His Holiness, Pope Francis, wrote:

" It is with joy that I convey my cordial greetings to the administrators, faculty, and students of Our Lady of Fatima University as they celebrate its 50th Foundation Anniversary.

This Golden Jubilee coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal. ‘At a time when the human family was ready to sacrifice all that was most sacred on the altar of the petty and selfish interests of nations, races, ideologies, groups and individuals, our Blessed Mother came from heaven, offering to implant in the hearts of all those who trust in her the Love of God burning in her own heart. At that time it was only to three children, yet the example of their lives spread and multiplied in countless groups throughout the world dedicated to the cause of fraternal solidarity’ (cfr. Pope Benedict XVI, Fatima, 2010).

I pray that this institution dedicated to the memory of Our Lady of Fatima continue to be a leaven of change in a society in need of people of integrity, honesty and generosity.

Invoking the maternal intercession of the Virgin Mary, in the name of the Successor of Peter, Pope Francis, I bless you.”

OLFU treasures these words of goodwill from the Vatican.

The University thanks Dr. Raymond S. Macatangga, Dean of the College of Computer Studies, whose intercession made this message possible.

To 50 more glorious years, Fatima!
