ORIENTATION PROGRAMS FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENTS AND PARENTS
Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) through its Center for Guidance Services welcomed the very first batch of Senior High School (SHS) students and parents through the series of Orientation Programs held simultaneously at all OLFU Campuses in June 2016.
As early as May before the opening of the academic year 2016-2017, the parents of the new SHS students had actively joined programs especially prepared for them. Highlighting the event was the presentation of the academic highlights of the institution that helped them in realizing that they have truly chosen the best institution for their children’s academic pursuits.
Two days after the opening of classes last June 13, students also gathered for a series of orientation programs. Like what has always been, all programs in the different campuses started with a Mass of the Holy Spirit presided by the University Chaplain, Fr. Lito Caliwag. Highlights of these programs were the presentation of the Vision-Mission of the new SHS program and the Strand Orientation that truly helped students understand better the academic strand that they have chosen to pursue.
The orientation programs became more meaningful with the awarding of certificates to the Dean’s List. These are given to students who have exhibited academic excellence in all their subjects/courses from the previous semester. The ceremony aimed to inspire the Grade 11 students to also do their best in their studies.
OLFU through its initial programs both for students and parents welcomes the challenges that the new SHS Program brings to all. Through these University initiatives, students, as well as parents, are better equipped with the necessary initial information that they would need to make their stay in OLFU peaceful, exciting and enjoyable.
