Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Diana A. Payawal, FPCP, as one of the Board of Regents of the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) for the year 2016-2017. Dr. Payawal is a currently an Assistant Professor of the OLFU College of Medicine. She is also the Head of the Digestive Health Services and Chair of the Hospital Research Committee of the Fatima University Medical Center (FUMC). Her appointment as a board of regents was awarded during the 46th Annual PCP Convention held last May 3, 2016 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
On the same occasion, Dr. Harold P. Iturralde, currently a resident Physician for Internal Medicine of FUMC, was also awarded as the Most Outstanding PCP Researcher 2016 in the Analytical-Retrospective Category for his original research paper entitled The Prevalence of Prescribed Potentially Inappropriate Medication in Elderly Patients Admitted in the Department of Internal Medicine in a Tertiary Teaching Hospital in Valenzuela City from January to December 2014: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study. Dr. Iturralde is an alumnus of the OLFU College of Medicine Batch 2011 and one of the topnotchers (Top 7) during the February 2013 Physician Licensure Examination.
The PCP is an affiliate society of internists of the Philippine Medical Association and a member-society of the International Society of Internal Medicine with members of more than 9,000 from all over the country.
The administrations of both OLFU and FUMC would like to congratulate Dr. Payawal and Dr. Iturralde for their well-deserved appointment and recognition, respectively.
