Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) is in collaboration with the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) Acupuncture-Moxibustion Society of Taipei-China to act as an official representative to recruit students and facilitate testing for WFAS qualification of Acupuncture Doctor eligibility in the Philippines.In line with this, an international academic lecture series on ÒThe Role of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Promoting Quality HealthÓ will be held on April 25, 2014 (Friday) in San Lorenzo Hall (SLH) Multi-Purpose Hall from 8:00 to 12:00 in the noon. Speakers include Dr. Philip Ni–o P. Tan-Gatue, Clinical Assistant Professor of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine; Dr. Josef De Ubaldo, Honorary President of the Royal Fellow Institute of Alternative Medicine, Royal Institution of Singapore; Mr. David Huang and Dr. Huang Ming-Chu of the WFAS. Formed in 1987, WFAS is an international association that promotes acupuncture and organizes worldwide symposia and conferences, facilitates the process to gain legal status for acupuncture throughout the international community, develops educational resources, and publishes academic publications. The World Health Organization (WHO) provides guidance to the group.
