The Our Lady of Fatima University Research Development and Innovation Center, headed by its Director Michael Joseph S. DiÐo participated in the 2015 Annual Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Planning held lastæFebruary 10-12, 2015 at the Skylight Hotel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.æThe Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and the Western Philippines University hosted the event.æ This yearÍs planning emphasizes on strategies to achieve the following objectives: (1) Structural Reform - to strengthen and reform the structures of each ITSO enabling them to function effectively and efficiently; (2) IP Creation - generate university-developed technologies which are more relevant to the needs of the industry; thereby benefiting the general public more; (3) IP Protection - to enhance the capability of the Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) to protect their intellectual properties; and (4) IP Commercialization - to generate income from the research works. More than two hundred (200) ITSO Managers and technical Staff attended the annual planning activity. The activity this year also focused on the ITSO networkÍs plans, programs and projects for 2015, and programs and concerns of ITSO institutions. The annual strategic planning is also a venue for stakeholders to learn from each other, to share best practices and experiences, and to contribute to an intellectual-property conscious Philippines The Our Lady of Fatima University Research Development and Innovation Center is the newest ITSO franchise of the IPOPHL. The Memorandum of Agreement between IPOPHL and OLFU was ratified in December of 2014. Ms. Jenica Ana A. Rivero, Ms. Jewel M. Refran, and Mr. Chistian V. del Rosario, ITSO personnel of the university also participated the event.
