Doctors and employees from Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) and the Fatima University Medical Center (FUMC) visited the Villa Magdalena Community to render free medical services and consultation for the residents.

Stationed at the barangay’s community center, 50 volunteers from OLFU and FUMC treated a total of 447 residents, detailed as follows:

Bringing together OLFU and FUMC alumni and staff, the medical mission was an initiative spearheaded by College of Physical Therapy alumna, Maria Ana Daquigan, RPT (Batch 1996). Today, she is based in Houston, Texas and an active proponent of Texas for Gawad Kalinga-USA. The latter is one of the organizations that initiated this recent medical mission, with cooperation from: Advocate for Prosperity headed by President Carol P. Tulud, and Prayers of Day Foundation led by President Emil C. Sabado.

Alumni from the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry and College of Physical Therapy collaborated for this particular community outreach event, deeming such as a meaningful way of “giving back” to society. The activity this 2017 holds even more significance as OLFU and FUMC celebrate their 50th Founding Anniversary; a big reason to express gratitude for all the great things that have taken and are taking place for both institutions and their people.
