Who are we?
The Institutional Ethics Review Committee (OLFU-IERC) – a committee of the University that uphold the highest ethical standards in research and any scientific inquiry. It offers protocol review services and ethics consultation for cluster-based studies and related fields.
OLFU-IERC shall align itself with the standards set by the Philippine
Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) to ensure adherence to the universal principles and protection of human participants in the research and any scientific undertakings.
This also acknowledges the core roles and responsibilities of OLFU-IERC:
- Ensure the protection of the rights, safety, and well-being of human participants
- Promote the highest intellectual and data integrity in scientific projects.
- Review and approval of the ethical soundness of research protocols/proposals
- Monitoring compliance with and any deviations from the approved protocols.
