OLFU creates Space for Research Development and Innovation

The Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), spearheaded by its Research Development and Innovation Center (RDIC), hosted a national conference about the current trends and updates on research development and innovation at the Novotel Hotel, Quezon City.


With its theme, “Creating space for research development and innovation in higher education”, the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Conference showcased relevant topics on the research process ranging from the National Research Agenda to the essentials of research publication in international journals. Notable speakers present in the event were Dr. Custer Deocaris of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines; Dr. Ricardo Manalastas of the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB); Prof. Paul Ernest De Leon of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD); Dr. David Hall of USAID – Science Technology and Research and Innovation Development (STRIDE); Dr. William Yeoh of Deakin University; Dr. Wong Woei Fuh of iGroup Asia Pacific; and Mr. Alan Lui of ProQuest Business Development Asia.


The conference aimed to facilitate alignment of the institutional research agenda to the current trends, issues and standards in research, publication, and ethics; inspire dissemination of research outputs through research presentation, publication and journal management; translate research and scholarly work into measurable outputs and innovative technologies that will generate substantial impact and development; engage the community in novel and creative discussions for research collaboration, networking and possible partnerships; develop strategic thrusts in Higher Education to increase scholarly work and visibility through publication, and encourage the monitoring of research metrics.
