Date Posted: Saturday, December 25, 2010
True to their word as being the home of achievers, Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) College of Dentistry - Dean Arturo de Leon has been elected as the President of the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) and the South East Asia Association of Dental Educators (SEAADE).  Dean De Leon was the first independent candidate to run and be elected as President of PDA and the youngest President of SEAADE.

Dean De Leon first joined OLFU in 1996 as the Founding Dean of the College of Dentistry.  Through Dean De Leon’s leadership, the College of Dentistry’s first batch of graduates registered a 100% passing average.  Since then, the College has been hailed as a Top Performing School by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) for the past 14 consecutive years.

Dean De Leon also piloted the inclusion of Forensic Dentistry in the College’s curriculum, making OLFU the only University in the Philippines to offer such course.

Moreover, Dean de Leon was chosen by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and awarded as the 2010 Most Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Dentistry.

OLFU was recently granted Autonomous Status by CHED on March 2009 and has been producing topnotchers in the area of Medicine, Nursing, Physical Therapy and Medical Technology.
