In its continuous quest towards progressive development, Our Lady of Fatima University (Valenzuela, Quezon City, and Antipolo) was recently conferred by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management (Level II Recognition). Such acclaim is granted to organizations who have “achieved significant progress in building sound processes.”
Through a formal document from the DTI dated 06 February 2020, Director Lilian G. Salonga relayed to University President, Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez, the shining accomplishment of OLFU, which was earned during the 22nd PQA Assessment Cycle. The University is cited for its excellence in providing quality education and exemplary organizational operations.
The PQA is the highest level of national recognition given to organizations in the private and public sectors that excel in quality, productivity, and business performance. According to the PQA website, the Program is a “global competitiveness template” geared to spur and empower organizations in pursuit of performance excellence.
On receiving the news, Dr. Enriquez attributed the recognition to the well-meaning and determined people who have helped shape the University into what it is today. She averred, “This recognition is for the academic community of Fatima— all our stakeholders from students, alumni, deans, faculty and employees who have worked tirelessly in fulfilling our goal, which is to ‘improve man as man.’ The PQA attests to all our efforts in providing our students and communities a higher standard of education that could very well be the boost towards better lives and a stronger Philippines. May this inspire us to be persistent in selflessly dedicating our service to the learners of this nation.”
The PQA recipients of the 22nd PQA Assessment Cycle will be awarded at an official conferment ceremony at the Malacañang Palace later this year.
