As of 28 January 2022, the Fatima University Medical Center (FUMC) in collaboration with Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) have successfully administered 83,000 COVID-19 vaccines to fellow Filipinos who had their jabs right within OLFU’s Campuses.

In 2021, OLFU volunteered to transform portions of its campuses into vaccination centers where the FUMC, local government units, and the Department of Health could carry out vaccination programs. With their wide, open spaces for common areas, OLFU’s facilities prove to be quite conducive for the health campaign.

Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., who was appointed in November 2020 as the Philippines’ COVID-19 Vaccine Czar, expressed his gratitude to OLFU President Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez through a personal message. Secretary Galvez is concurrently the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process and, also, designated as the Chief Implementer of the Philippines’ National Policy Against COVID-19 (COVID-19 National Task Force).

Fatima’s participation in this drive against the COVID-19 disease echoes their mission of “improving man as man”. And the work is far from over as OLFU and FUMC endeavor to propagate vaccination through the days and months ahead, or for as long as their services are required. Through this humble contribution, the Fatima organization helps in saving lives of “kababayans” … one jab at a time.
