Crim Boot Camp 2

106 graduating students from the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ)-Valenzuela Campus of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) fulfilled the mandatory requirement of internship or practicum by attending a two-day virtual boot camp which was organized and hosted by the University of the Cordilleras (UC) on November 19 to 20, 2021. Also joining the training were 37 interns from De LaSalle University-Dasmarinas (DLSU-D) and 85 interns from the host university.

The conduct of the practicum is in line with the existing partnership between the three universities whose primary goal is to strengthen their ties and provide the interns the avenue to develop and/or enhance their endurance, in both academic and non-academic terms, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

This tripartite boot camp initiative aims to: (1) provide participants with the avenue to harness their physical and mental well-being amidst the pandemic; (2) instill the values of discipline, fair play and teamwork; (3) allow them to bond and develop camaraderie and, (4) encourage the sharing of best practices among the students with regards to the holding of a virtual internship program.

Main activities included physical fitness training, webinars, games, and competitions.

Welcoming the participants to the training were the Deans, namely, Dr. Zorobabel Laureles (OLFU), Dr. Alrien Dausan of DLSU-D, and Ms. Cherry Ann Cabarrubias of US. Dr. Ariel Nimo Pumecha, UC Vice President for Academics and Research, delivered the closing message on the second day.

Practicum Coordinators and faculty members from OLFU, DLSU-D, and UC also attended the event.
